In this DIY project, Florent shows how he made a beautiful and practical piece of furniture with sawn sheets ordered online. He opted for poplar plywood. An easy to process and robust material with a beautiful final result.
Description of Florent
Creation of a 2-drawer staircase cabinet in place of a shelf counter which took up too much space. White lacquered box and drawers with painted and decorated fronts.
How I carried out this project
1-Creation of the 18mm thick box in poplar plywood and job. Glue and screws then wood putty to fill the holes. Sanding, primer and 3 coats white lacquer.
2-Production of drawers in 9 and 15mm poplar plywood. Glue and screws then wood putty to fill the holes. Sanding, priming and painting 2 coats.
3-Carrying out the decoration of 9mm facades with masking tape of different widths. Adjustment and gluing on the drawers.
4-Assembly of the drawers in the box with push to open slides.
5-Fixing the assembly to the floor and wall.
