A homemade folding desk plywood Okoumé, by Erwin

Fold-out desk. Formwork made around the radiator, with the option to fold out into a desk. Bottom shelf is attached with magnets and can be removed to create more foot space.

How I made this project

Shelves measured and ordered. Decided to go for Okoumé because of the beautiful grain in the planks. Formwork made of simple wood and then the planks and hinges attached. The planks were then sanded and provided with coloring and then a layer of varnish. Then everything was assembled and the finishing touches were done in terms of adjusting the hinges and fitting the assembly. The result is a tight formwork around the radiator and an option to create a beautiful workplace in a small space. When you fold it flat you get the space back.
