Description of Dirk
Wall unit consisting of four double EKET cabinets from IKEA, built-in with a plinth (100 mm) and a top made of TOSIZE.be. The top is a pine panel of 18 mm, finished with two layers of white primer and three layers of Farrow & Ball Dead Flat paint in the color Skimming Stone (as is the wall). The cabinets are painted in the same color. Recesses for cables have been sawn in the corners of the top; in the right-hand cabinet we have sawn a hole for a power strip that is fixed in the cabinet. In this way we have a power point for laptops etc. at the dining table.
How I made this project
We painted Ikea EKET cabinets and anchored them to the wall. On the sides we sawed strips to size and attached them to the cabinets using an L-profile. Under the cabinets we attached a ready-made skirting board to the legs using Velcro. We sawed recesses for cables in the corners of the custom-made top for the lamp and the coffee machine. The top can remain loose on the cabinets due to its tight dimensions.
Dimensions of my DIY project
293 cm x 81.8 cm x 38 cm (wxhxd; depth 35 cm without top).
