Description of Robert
For my children (1 and almost 3) we wanted a place where they could play and draw. That's why I made this children's furniture in the style of the tall cabinet we already had (also from TOSIZE.be) In the middle a desk where two chairs can easily fit under/between. On both sides a storage drawer on wheels for all the kids' toys. If they ever get too big for it, we're thinking of putting cushions on it and using it as a bench. It's sturdy enough for that.
How I made this project
The uprights and top are made of glued 2x18mm multiplex. The uprights are attached with pocket holes that were later filled and varnished. At the back, directly under the top, there is a brace between the uprights so that it cannot collapse like a house of cards. The drawers fall just under the brace, so that they are nicely level with the furniture at the front. At the back, I also made a recess for the skirting board of the wall.
Dimensions of my DIY project
240x40cm. This fit between the cabinet and our curtain. The desk part has an internal measurement of 70 cm. The drawers are just a little narrower than 78 cm, so that they fit nicely between the uprights.
