Description by Karin

I made a row of seven hollow wall shelves in a niche in the bedroom. This created space to store a lot of books.

How I made this project

I had planks mitered. Before gluing, I stuck the long sides of the planks together with painter's tape, then opened them up again and glued them together. I screwed a slat between the plank for extra strength. I attached slats from the hardware store to the wall, fitting exactly between the planks. On the back wall and the side walls. I sanded the corners of the planks a bit, so that they are not so sharp and a bit more round. I then slid the planks over the slats. I then further secured the planks with a screw. I filled the hole and then painted the shelves in the wall color.
