In this DIY project, Daniel shows how he extended it using a custom-cut wooden board. Read more about his experience below.

Description from Daniel

We have a wooden table on the terrace that has the option of being extended. Unfortunately, we only had one extension leaf, but the table could be extended by another 50 cm. So I ordered a new leaf.

How I did this project

I determined the maximum width of the leaf. Then I ordered the leaf, cut it to size and chamfered it. I then drilled holes in the front of the leaf and inserted the pins and sleeves so that it fits in with the existing leaf. Finally, I painted the new leaf twice so that it is well protected against impacts and the weather. At the end I screwed on tension locks at the bottom so that the plates cannot slip apart.

Dimensions of my DIY project

The plate was 117.0 cm x 53.0 cm x 4.0 cm. The table ultimately measured 220.0 cm x 117.0 cm.
