Description of Marlies
In our new apartment it took some getting used to. We were used to a large bedroom and this one was a lot smaller in surface area. That is why we chose not to place high cabinets in our bedroom, but Nordli chest of drawers in 2 widths. This makes the bedroom look bigger than it actually is. We already had the VIKHAMMER bedside tables in our previous house. We deliberately chose the black version, but wanted to give the whole thing a tough and look. That is why we chose to mount oak planks of TOSIZE.be on it.
How I made this project
The chest of drawers was chosen in different widths. This was to use almost the full width of the bedroom. You can also place these in a different order in the room. We have now placed the narrow cabinets directly above each other, but they are actually 2 separate chests of drawers that you can place in different arrangements and layouts in the room. Because we have a bed with a width of 160 wide, we had to take into account that the drawers could also open on the narrow part between the bedside table and the chest of drawers. The shelf on the chest of drawers protrudes slightly so that it runs almost from wall to wall. On both sides there is still 5 mm space. The shelves on the bedside tables are the same size as the top shelf. The thickness of the Oak Carpentry Panels BC is 19 mm.
Dimensions of my DIY project
The chest of drawers is 292 wide, 49 deep and 100 cm. The bedside table is 40 wide, 39 deep and 65 high. Our bedroom is 294 long and 420 wide
