Description by Joos
I have made a design for a three-quarter bed (140, 0 cm * 200.0 cm) and made it to size myself using a bed fitting that I bought on the internet.
How I made this project
I first I made a sketch and based on that I ordered the wood online. I wanted a sleek bed with good proportions. The most complicated part of this job was cutting all the pieces into shape. I did this partly with a plunge saw and the round parts I did with a jigsaw. To complete the bed frame I used standard so-called bed hinges that are available at any hardware store. I wanted the bed to be removable and did not want to work with screws. I used the Skorva center beam from Ikea and two Ikea slatted bases, which rest on both the center beam and a thin beam that I mounted on the long side. ((note: Ikea strangely does not supply the mounting material for the Skorva, I ordered this via Amazon) The headboard can be dismantled and I attached it to the back with sturdy profiles. I stained all the wood twice to prevent possible warping. /p>
Dimensions of my DIY project
bed frame is 140.0 cm * 200.0 cm and with the headboard it is 80.0 cm high, the rest is 40.0 cm high.
